Chin augmentation surgery, also known as genioplasty, is ideal for patients who want to augment the size and projection of their chin. This surgery is especially pertinent to patients whose chin is disproportionate to their nose. Chin augmentation will strengthen the patient’s jaw line by building up a receding chin or augmenting a small chin.
Chin Augmentation Surgery Consultation
At The Graivier Center, we value our personal relationships with our patients. Each patient is treated as an individual, and as such, is given a personal consultation prior to any treatment. Dr. Graivier and his staff will meet with you to help you make decisions regarding which procedure(s) or treatment(s) will result in achieving your aesthetic goals. The consultation will conclude with a discussion about the desired treatment, your expectations, the benefits and risks associated with the treatment and post-treatment recovery.
Chin Augmentation Surgery Complementary Procedures
It is a common practice for patients undergoing chin augmentation surgery to combine several procedures at once that will offer complementary or enhanced results. At The Graivier Center, we will take the time to walk potential patients through all of the risks and benefits of each surgery, whether you choose a single treatment or multiple treatments.
Patients undergoing chin augmentation surgery can elect to combine the following procedures for enhanced results:
Chin Augmentation Surgery
Dr. Graivier will place an inconspicuous incision in the crease beneath the chin. A pocket will be created in front of the chin bone where the implant will be placed. An implant made from calcium Hydroxylapatite (the same mineral component as bone) will be contoured to fit and lock onto the chin. The implant becomes incorporated into the chin bone. The implant extends to include the “pre-jowl” depression, giving a smooth, natural look without a pointy “witches chin” appearance.
