Dr. James Depew is more than a skilled plastic surgeon—he is a trusted partner in each patient’s transformation. A forward-thinking clinician and technology enthusiast, Dr. Depew integrates medical excellence with surgical artistry. A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Depew began his training with a passion for precision and an eye for detail. He completed a five-year general surgery residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a three-year fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis—once again earning the role of Chief Resident.
Dr. Depew began private practice in 2017 and brings more than just credentials to the operating room. He brings compassion, technical mastery, and an ongoing pursuit of innovation. He is a proud Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds board certifications from both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery—a dual distinction held by only a fraction of plastic surgeons nationwide.
While his surgical expertise covers everything from aesthetic procedures to complex reconstructions, Dr. Depew’s patients frequently remark on his ability to truly listen, personalize care, and deliver outcomes that feel both beautiful and authentic.

Dr. Depew’s commitment to excellence extends far beyond the clinic. His expertise has contributed to the advancement of aesthetic technologies through his consulting and scientific advisory work with Apyx Medical and Cytrellis. His dedication to compassionate, humanistic medicine was honored by the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Society, an ethos that still guides his every interaction.
In his personal life, Dr. Depew is a passionate scuba diver, international traveler, and natural light photographer. He is an explorer at heart and recently took up surfing, blending athleticism with his love of nature. He met his wife, Jessa, a clinical pharmacist specializing in rare disease outcomes, during his surgical internship. Together, they are raising three multilingual children who speak Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, and English. In 2020, Jessa founded The Quadrilingual Academy in Smyrna, GA—a reflection of their shared values of education, curiosity, and global citizenship.
