Facelift – Neck Lift Surgery in Alpharetta, GA
The lower facelift/neck lift with suspension sling was developed by Dr. Graivier in 1994 because of his dissatisfaction with the “tired old techniques.” Instead of pulling on skin and muscle alone (which relax quickly), his technique involves internal suspension sutures from bone to bone which recontour the neck and lower face support. The skin is gently redraped in a vertical direction (the direction of aging), and three to six inches of skin are removed without pulling.
The Graivier technique has shown long-lasting and natural results, even ten to 15 years post-surgery for some patients! As a world-renowned surgeon, Dr. Graivier has taught his exclusive procedure to other plastic surgeons worldwide and has presented his ten-year results at national and international plastic surgery conferences.

Lower Facelift/Neck Lift Procedure
The areas addressed with the lower facelift/neck lift are the neck, jowls and lower face. The marionette lines running from the corner of the mouth to the chin are also significantly improved by this procedure. Fat is always placed to enhance the lines and volume deficient areas of the face.
Dr. Graivier believes that to have a long-lasting and natural result, the deeper structures of the face and neck need to be re-supported. The incision for the neck lift procedure is a small, one-inch incision placed just below the chin. Incisions for the facelift are discreetly placed in the natural folds in front of the ear, down to the base of the ear, extending behind the ear and into the lower hairline. Incisions in men and women are designed to leave the sideburn and hairline alone.
Liposuction is performed, and then the skin is elevated gently off the neck muscles. The muscular bands are removed, and the muscle is repaired to give an improved angle to the neck. Long-lasting sutures are then placed against the bone behind the ear and woven into the muscle from one side to the other. Several rows of sutures are placed, forming a new support structure for the neck. Essentially a sling has been made and this gives good, long-term support and contour to the neck.
The skin is then re-draped in a vertical direction, as the skin droops down, not back. As much as three to six inches of skin is removed without tension on the skin, resulting in a very fine scar.
The effects of Dr. Graivier’s lower facelift/neck lift are natural, do not look over-pulled and are long-lasting. Our early lower facelift/neck lift patients still look amazing, even many years after their surgery.
