A Thin Line: How To Get Full Lips

While some people are born with long-lasting, full, luscious lips, others have the dreaded “thin line.” This is a lip that either disappears when you smile, or losses its fullness and develops wrinkles as you age.

Since we tend to equate youthfulness with full lips, a lip enhancement is a simple procedure to help correct thin lips and recover the shape desired. While most wouldn’t ask for the Kylie Jenner lip, it’s perfectly fine to want a lip pick me up.

At The Graivier Center, we offer several non-surgical and surgical options that will give you the full lips you desire and get the smile back on your face.

Are You Ready to Fix the Thin Line?

No one wants to walk around feeling self-conscious about a major part of their face, their lips. After all, a smile, frown or just plain indifference is one of the best communicators of how we feel in a given situation. Be sure the vibes you are giving off through your lips are what you intend.

The key to the perfect set of lips is having a believable plump to them and making sure the top lip is slightly larger than the bottom.

If you have always had thin lips, and they tend to “disappear” when you smile, a safe solution is an injectable. The same is the case if your lips are naturally asymmetrical. If your lips have begun to wrinkle or appear to have aged, an injectable will bring them back to life while giving your face an instant freshness.

Injectables usually need a new application every three to six months. However, they are still a great option since they require virtually no recovery. We recommend using Restylane to add volume and fullness to your lips or Juvederm to define the lip shape, ease away lines around the mouth and to add a youthful outline to the lips. There are also several new products recently approved by the FDA addressing tiny invasive lip lines that are an inevitable result of the aging process.

Surgical Options

What if an injectable isn’t enough? The Graivier Center offers several non-evasisive surgical options that can enhance and define the natural beauty of your lips.

Fat Grafting

Fat is harvested from one part of your body, usually the abdomen, using liposuction techniques. The fat is purified and then injected into the lips to achieve the desired effect.

Lip lift

There are two types of lip lifts: upper lip lift and a corner lip lift. The upper lip lift will shorten the skin distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose. This increases the amount of ‘pink lip’ that is seen, exposes the teeth more and gives you fuller, more youthful looking lips.

The corner lip lift involves only the edges of your mouth and is designed for the patient who feels as though they have a permanent frown.

Lip implant

A lip implant is a silicone implant that is inserted into the lips through incisions inside the corners of the mouth. This will provide the patient with permanent results.
